Home >> Hearing Loss > What-to-do What to do if you have hearing loss If a person is diagnosed as having hearing a loss then; Depending on the degree and type of hearing loss , he / she should plan for treatment/habilitation/rehabilitation. For eg: take up a hearing aid/ device. If Hearing loss is in both ears then ideally binaural-means for both ears. But, what if you wish to take one first, then which ear should you take for? So in this condition- if your loss in one ear is less than 40dB and in other ear more than 60 dB then you should opt for poorer ear. But, if your loss is greater than80dB in one ear and in other ear it is less than 60dB then you should fit the hearing aid for better ear having a value less than 60dB This is same for adults and children.
